2003 Whooping Crane Migration
October 24, 2003

Ogle County, Illinois- The migration team is staying put today, although flight was attempted. Headwinds increased the projected flight time to over two hours - beyond the fuel-carrying capabilities of the ultralights. As an incoming front with more wind and rain is predicted for this weekend, the team may be grounded into Sunday.

Total distance flown remains 138 miles.
