2003 Whooping Crane Migration

November 20, 2003

 

Cumberland County, Tennessee - Finally, the weather cleared. The whooping cranes left Adair County, Kentucky and followed the ultralights to Cumberland County, Tennessee. They flew for 1 hour and 51 minutes, traveling 74.9 miles, the longest flight of this migration.

 

Three whooping cranes from the 2001 and 2002 flocks have arrived in Florida.

 

The total distance traveled so far is 652.7 miles.
