The Whooping Crane Eastern Partnership is deeply saddened to learn that Operation Migration is resigning from the partnership. Since 1999 Operation Migration has been a valued partner, contributing countless hours, resources, and talent to our shared goal of returning a migratory population of Whooping Cranes to the eastern United States. Together, we have been very successful in reintroducing Whooping Cranes back to the Eastern United States, teaching them to migrate, form pairs, and hatch chicks successfully. As we look forward to the future, we still believe that a healthy and self -sustaining Eastern Migratory Population of Whooping Cranes is achievable. We are encouraged by our successful breeding season thus far, our ongoing research, and our shared commitment to the species.
